 This week Jane in Simply Gospel looks at Matthew 5:17 to 18 in the journey through the Sermon on the Mount and asks the question of the relationship as Christian’s to God’s law as explained by Jesus. The radical teachings of Jesus called his followers to be markedly different (cf Matt 6:8 and 5:20 ) and examines how Jesus came to fulfil the Law and the predictions of the prophets, that the moral law of God remains, what is greatness in the kingdom of God and what true faithfulness to God is marked by. What the nature of true righteousness required. What Jesus teaches of attitudes, regulations, commands and prohibitions, the nature of authority and interpretation, of practice, fulfilment restoration and integrity.
