The sermon is by Jane and the reading is from John 10:1-10 which is continuing a short series on how and where we get our guidance from. It begins with how our relationship to God being integral to this and then looks at the principles that under lie this both at an individual and at a corporate level.

Jane looked at Matthew 14:13-21 as part of our harvest celebrations this week with a particular focus on Foodbank in Tower Hamlets ( http://www.towerhamletsfoodbank.org.uk/) with whom we actively involved and supporting. The talk looked at how Jesus meets human and spiritual needs, but also how he calls us to be his voice, hands and feet acting under His guidance and discernment.

As part of the baptismal service of Michelle is Jane’s explanation of baptism where the sound quality is much better.

Geoff spoke to 1 Peter 1:13-16 looking at “Be Holy.” Unfortunately the sound quality is not great but the talk looks at “ Be Holy because I am holy “ as part of the baptismal service of Michelle. Also on the seperate post of the same date is the link to Jane’s explanation of baptism where the sound quality is much better.

Jane spoke to “ reaching out through communion.” In this talk Jane explores our relationship with God through Christ, with each other in the presence of the Holy Spirit, our relationship to the world. This reflects back on the meal as part of our discipleship in its individual and corporate dimensions.

Rebecca Suknenko spoke to Romans 14 in “ reaching out beyond ourselves.” Looking at how a community of people is making connections. Of what is church, what should it be, what does it do, how should it tick – how should it develop and evolve ? How to celebrate diversity.

Geoff spoke to the high priestly prayer of Jesus recorded in John 17 focusing on v20-26 and particularly v21. It continues the series as the third of 5 Be’s. This time looking at “ Be One “ exploring where unity is not a by-product of faithful living but integral to God’s purposes of mission and service “ in order that the world may know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me.”
