Continuing in the series of Building, Outreach Belonging this talk by Jane takes further the question of what we are building with by looking at mercy. The passage is from Dives and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31)and high lights that eternity begins now and that God’s transformation of a new heaven and earth will import the good, noble and honourable as part of the legacy of kingdom work done in the here and now.

Jane examines the centrality of Jesus and the resurrection as the basis for us being built into a temple in our relationship as living stones. To ask the question what are we building and what principles should govern us. As part of an answer to this was the central place of justice and the need to build God’s way or it will not last ( Psalm 127).

Georgina spoke on the lessons in re building the walls from Nehemiah in the BOB series. The talk looks at the place of evaluation, rebuilding and perseverance in our lives and the nature of prayer.

Jane began the series for the year 2010 looking at Building, Outreach, Belonging (BOB). Unsurprisingly Christ as the only the Foundation, 1 Cor 3:9-11 became the starting point and developing on from the 12 steps in following Jesus from the previous year.

Jane Thorington-Hassell continued our series on being called to Hope around the promise of Jesus “ I am making everything new” (Rev 21:5). The resurrection and a new creation is more than life after death. Our hope is built not on what might happen but what God has promised.
