Catching up with the summer!

As we enjoy a couple of days of nice hot sunshine I have managed to upload a few sermons from August & September.

10th August:
Jane continues the series about Love and Obedience, speaking from John 15 vs 1-17.

31st August:
Becca speaks from Acts 17 vs 11 where Paul talks about the Bereans and their attitude towards the gospel.

September 14th:

Geoff speaks from the book of Philemon about the "Social Dynamite" of love, the people of God, and forgiveness.

27th July 2008

July 27th:
Jane spoke about Love & Obedience based on 1 John 5 verese 1-5 especially verse 3.

June 22nd & 29th 2008

Continuing the theme of "Love for Neighbour"

22nd June:
Jane spoke about "Strangers & Hate", looking at the presence of hate in the town and country and the command to love.

29th June:
Jane spoke about "Going the extra mile".

May & June

The problems are still not ironed out of this process but we are now able to put up a few more sermons on this year's theme of "Love & the People of God".

25th May
Jane spoke about "Christian liberty and Christian love" based on Romans 14.

1st June
Jane spoke on "Loving the stranger" based on Luke 17 vs 11-19.

15th June
Jane spoke on "Practical love and table fellowship" based on Matthew 5 vs 13-26.

20th April 2008

Due to technical hitches and lack of personnel we have missed a few recordings but finally we have managed to get one on tape and then online...

20th April: Jane spoke about "the Lord's Day" based on Acts 20 v 7-12.

The notes will be posted on the Downloads section of the VPBC website later this week.

Happy Easter!

Palm Sunday - 16th March 2008: Jane, our pastor, spoke about the stones crying out to declare Jesus is Lord if we keep silent. We seem to have lost a bit of the beginning of this but I'm not sure how much.

Easter Sunday - 23rd March 2008: Jane's talk was entitled "After I am raised up, I your Shepherd will go ahead of you, leading the way… (v32)" and was based on Matthew 26: 31 – 35.

As usual there will be sermon notes available on download page of the VPBC website. There are also notes on the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday talks that Jane gave in the lead up to Easter Sunday.

2nd & 9th March 2008

March 2nd: Jane, our pastor, spoke about Hospitality as part of the theme of Love & the People of God.

March 9th: Phil Warburton is pastor of an Urban Expressions church in Stepney (see urbanexpression.org.uk). He spoke about how to be a "healthy church".
